Temple Police Officers participate in Tip-A-Cop event

(March 24, 2022) Officers with the Temple Police Department were hard at work Wednesday, in a role they aren’t normally in. 

They became servers and wait staff for the folks at Wings Pizza N Things March 23. 

For four consecutive hours, our men and women in uniform took on the different job to collect donations for Special Olympics Texas (SOTX). 

SOTX is a year-round movement that provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  

The department was able to raise approximately $4,200 during the event. 

“We are so excited for this opportunity and look forward to partnering with them again soon,” said Shauna Radke with Special Olympics Texas. 

Even though the event is over, community members can still participate in this initiative, donations are also being collected online HERE. 

The Temple Police Department is happy and excited to be part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Texas and continue helping our community in various ways.
