Public Works

In coordination with the Central Texas Council of Governments, Bell County and the following jurisdictions: Cities of Bartlett, Belton, Harker Heights, Holland, Killeen, Little River Academy, Morgan’s Point Resort, Nolanville, Rogers, Temple and Troy, and the Village of Salado are updating the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Plan Update will address natural hazards that affect the area. The goal of the Plan Update is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards through effective mitigation.

Garbage and Recycling services, as well as Fleet Maintenance, Drainage, Traffic Signal Maintenance and administrative contracts for Wastewater Treatment are also part of Public Works. The department also assists in the logical, planned growth of the city through the Engineering Division.

The City of Temple Department of Public Works adheres to the Federal and State regulations as set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
