BRYNN MYERS - CITY MANAGER
Brynn Myers was appointed by the City Council to the City Manager position in January, 2018. She serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City and manages an annual budget of nearly $150 million and a staff of over 900 full and part time employees. The City Manager and staff implement City Council policy decisions and facilitate the coordinated responses of all City departments to daily government activities. Mrs. Myers also provides strategic advice to the Council on the long-term directions of the City.
Mrs. Myers serves on several boards and commissions, including the Temple Economic Development Corporation and she is also an active member of the International City / County Management Association and the Texas City Manager’s Association.
Mrs. Myers and her husband, Blake, have a son, Troy and a daughter, Preston.
ERIN SMITH, AICP - ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
Erin Smith is an Assistant City Manager for the City of Temple. She graduated from Harker Heights High School in 2002, and from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. She remained at Texas A&M University to complete her Master of Urban Planning degree in 2009. The emphasis area of her Master of Urban Planning degree focused on housing, community and economic development. While in graduate school, she received the American Planning Association Scholarship and won the Student Project Award in 2010 for the City of Cuero, Texas Redevelopment Plan. In Summer 2009, she interned at the City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as the Senior Planning Intern where she discovered that housing abandonment was an issue in the City resulting in several demolitions and vacant infill lots. For her masters paper, Erin developed an early warning system for housing abandonment for the City of Harrisburg to reduce the amount of building demolitions.
After receiving her education, Erin worked as a Project Manager for a home-builder in College Station, Texas for four years. During this time, she coordinated with the City of College Station regarding plats, zoning changes, engineering plans, building permits, and other development-related projects. In March 2012, she began working for the City of Belton as the Director of Planning, and continued her role in Belton for almost six years before taking a position as Assistant Director of Planning and Development Services for the City of Round Rock in December 2017. In both of these management roles, she coordinated with various City departments, outside agencies, boards and commissions, and City Council. Erin has a passion for city management and is dedicated to making Temple an even better place to live, work and play.
DAVID OLSON, P.E. - ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
David Olson is an Assistant City Manager for the City of Temple. He is a native Central Texan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University. David worked as an engineering consultant for municipal and land development projects for many years prior to his introduction into local government in 2016. He has a background in Public Works Management, and has a passion for leadership development. He believes that the greatest changes and success stories in the world begin with an individual taking action in the local community, and that drives his motivation to be a public servant. David and his wife Chelsea have three sons, Morgan, Mason, and Clayton.
