Temple Public Library offers curbside, digital services

The Temple Public Library has expanded curbside pickup hours to serve residents while the facility is closed.

“Though our building is closed to the public, we are still here to keep our residents informed and entertained,” Interim Library Director Tammy Fennell said. “We’ve taken measures to make materials available while still keeping our staff and community safe.”

In response to rising COVID-19 cases, the library building, along with certain other city facilities, will be closed to the public through Monday, Jan. 18. Books and other materials are available for curbside pickup. Materials can be checked out by visiting templelibrary.us Curbside pickup hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Please allow 24 hours for processing. An email will be sent once the order is ready for pickup.

Library card holders also have access to digital eBooks and audiobooks through the Central Texas Digital Consortium, https://ctdl.overdrive.com/.

On Dec. 15, the library unveiled a new integrated library system (ILS) - Apollo by Biblionix. The new library system includes an online catalog that will make it easier to search for items and will include detailed images, summaries and text message notifications for curbside pickup. Information for searching, placing holds, and managing user accounts is available through the help option (? icon) at https://templelibrary.biblionix.com/catalog/.
