Contribute to Community Safety by Taking the 2023 Hazard Mitigation Survey

TEMPLE, TX (December 19, 2023) - The Central Texas Council of Governments has created a survey to gather community input for revising the 2024-2029 Hazard Mitigation Plan. The 18-question survey provides residents with the opportunity to provide feedback regarding safety concerns and potential hazards that might impact the Bell County area.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan is a comprehensive document that outlines strategies and actions to reduce long-term risk to life and property from natural disasters and man-made hazards. It includes information such as a community profile, risk assessments, mitigation actions, and processes for monitoring and evaluating the implemented safety strategies.

The information that is gathered from the survey responses will help shape the new 5-year plan and contribute to creating a safer, more secure environment for residents during crisis events that may impact Central Texas. The survey will close in February of 2024.
