Temple Fire and Rescue Unveils New Truck with Push-In Ceremony

TEMPLE, TX (March 15, 2024) – Temple Fire and Rescue (TFR) invites the public to celebrate the addition of a new fire truck to Fire Station #6 with a traditional push-in ceremony and open house on Friday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station #6 (3620 Range Road, Temple, TX 76501).

During the ceremony, firefighters and members of the community will honor the tradition of pushing the new truck by hand into the bay of Fire Station #6. Truck 6 includes a 107-foot aerial ladder, the tallest ladder in Bell County. It also features the ability to flow over 2000 gallons per minute (GPM) of water and a new emergency lighting system that helps to minimize distractions and blinding drivers who are passing fire scenes.

“The ceremony is a moment of reflection of the history of the fire service and a celebration of the improved capabilities that this apparatus provides the citizens and department,” said Fire Chief Mitch Randles. “We are excited about the addition of this new truck and the opportunity to celebrate and thank the residents of the Temple community for it."

After the ceremony, TFR invites the community for lunch and an open house at the station. This event is free and open to the public.
