City of Temple to host 3rd Annual Black History Month Ceremony

TEMPLE, TX (February 21, 2024) - The City of Temple is hosting its 3rd annual Black History Month Ceremony to celebrate and honor Temple's Black community leaders, business owners, and City employees on February 26 at 10 a.m. at the Mayborn Convention Center. 

The City of Temple will celebrate and honor this year's theme, African Americans and the Arts. The ceremony will feature inspirational speeches from community leaders and artwork from trailblazers showcasing the vibrancy of the Black heritage. 

"We value Temple's diversity and recognize the incredible impact Black individuals have had on our community," said City Manager Brynn Myers. 

During the event, Mayor Tim Davis will present a proclamation to Temple Branch NAACP President, and District 2 Councilwoman, Dr. Zoe Grant. 

Let us come together as a community to reflect, learn, and appreciate the cultural richness that Black History Month represents.
