Meet the Council
Mayor Tim Davis
Tim Davis was elected to his first term as Mayor in May, 2018. Previously, he has served on the Temple City Council, District 1, since May 2013. He has been a resident of the area since 1995 and has lived in District 1 since 1997.
He is the owner and manager of Texas Benefit Alliance, a Temple based employee benefits insurance agency. As an active member of the Western Hills Church of Christ, where he currently serves as the Director of the Mission Leadership Team. He is a 1989 graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in Accounting.
Tim is also a member of the Rotary Club of Temple, past president of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Temple, a member of the Temple Chamber of Commerce and the Temple Quarterback Club. Tim also chairs the Killeen Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board and serves as a board member for the Temple Economic Development Corporation.
Tim and his wife, Jennifer have been married for over 35 years. They have 3 children, Hannah, Luke and Hope. They also have 3 grandchildren, Amelia ,Alton and Everett.

District 1 - Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Walker
About Mayor Pro Tem Walker
Jessica was elected as Councilmember for District 1 in May of 2018. She is 3rd generation Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1984. After graduation from The University of Texas at Austin, she became a flight attendant for American Airlines and retired in 1999. Jessica and her husband Bruce have been married for 30 years and together run Bruce’s family business Lengefeld Lumber Company.
Jessica is currently serving on the Temple Economic Development Corporation Board. She has served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Planning and Zoning Commission and the Temple Education Foundation Board.
She and Bruce have three children; Branan, 28, Harrison, 24 and Connally, 24 who all work for the family business. Bruce, also a Temple native, is involved in the Temple Area Builders Association. They attend First United Methodist Church in Temple.

District 2 - Zoe Grant
About Councilmember Grant
Dr. Zoe Grant was elected as a Council member for District 2 in May of 2023. Originally from Denver, Colorado, she has been a Temple Resident since 2016 and a District 2 Resident since 2020. She serves as council liaison for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Main Street Advisory Board. She has served on the City of Temple's Board of Adjustments, Neighborhood Revitalization Advisory Board, Comprehensive Plan Advisory Council, and Board of Appeals.
She served on many boards as Treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee for the Family Promise Board, Promise House Chair, and Promise House construction clerk for their new building. Also, the Temple Civic Theatre, Temple Founders Lions Club, Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum Foundation, A New Day Learning Academy, and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Patient and Family Advisory Council.
Dr. Grant is the NAACP Temple Branch President and remains a member of local organization boards that serve the residents of Bell County. Those boards include 5 Pearlz of Hope in Killeen, Cadence Bank Killeen-Temple Community Advisory Council, and A New Day Fellowship Church. She has memberships with the Founders Lions Club, and she is a Life Member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and a Life Member of the NAACP. She belongs to both the Temple Chamber of Commerce and the Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce (IBCC). She is the Crestview District Neighborhood Champion for one of the City of Temple's eighteen Neighborhood Coalition.
She is the founder of Zoe's Wings Foundation, Inc. Her parents, Earline (Blocker) and Horace Grant, were Texas Natives that met in Temple. Temple is home to her many relatives. She has two adult children, Ejevon, 40 (son, who lives in Colorado) and Davetta, 38 (Daughter), married to James Cross, and three granddaughters, Madison, 10, Jayda 4, and Brooklyn, 1, who live in Ft Worth, Texas.

District 3 - Susan Long
About Councilmember Long
Susan Long was elected to the Temple City Council in May of 2017. She has been a resident of District 3 since 1996, after moving to Temple from Washington, D.C. She is retired, having worked in the fields of Public Education, Social Work and Finance. Her husband, Woody, is a Temple native and is retired from the federal intelligence community.
Susan has served the City of Temple on the Building and Standards Commission for two terms, the Planning and Zoning Commission for two terms, and on the TISD School Board for nine years. She is a longtime supporter of the Friends of the Temple Public Library.

District 4 - Mike Pilkington
About Councilmember Pilkington
Mike was elected as District 4 Councilmember in May of 2023 after previously serving from 2016-2019. Mike is a graduate of Belton High School and Tarleton State University.
He grew up in Temple and returned after college in 1994 to live in an area that is now part of District 4. With his return, he was employed with the family business Bell Contractors, Inc., a local utility construction company. As of 2016, Mike has owned, operated and expanded the underground utility business his father established in 1977.
Mike's passion for serving the city spans over 25 years. He has served on many boards and commissions, including Planning & Zoning, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 1, Development Standards Advisory Board, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Adjustments, and several others. On a few of these boards, Mike has served as Chairman and/or Vice Chairman. He has also been involved for years in the Temple Area Builders Association and is currently Vice President of Government Relations for the Temple Chamber of Commerce.
He has been married to his wife, Laurel, for 30 years, and together they raised twin sons, Sammy and Lester (26). Mike and Laurel attend and are actively engaged in the Belton Church of Christ. When not working at his business or for the community, Mike enjoys hunting, fishing, motorcycle touring, and just about anything else outdoors.
