Electronics Recycling

Globally, over 137 billion pounds of e-waste was produced in 2023. Over 38 million tons of that comes from Texas annually. E-waste, or electronics, affects nearly every system in the human body due to many toxic components including mercury, lead, cadmium, polybrominated flame retardants, barium, and lithium. Electronics in curbside recycle bins are also leading causes of fires in transfer centers and sorting facilities. Keeping the electronics from landfills and recycling bins, and recycling them responsibly safeguards the community from toxic fumes, and contaminated groundwater, and a better planet for our future.
