Library to host summer meal program for students

The Temple Public Library has partnered with Temple ISD to provide meals to children throughout the summer.

As part of the school district’s Summer Food Service Program, children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old are eligible to receive meals at no cost at the Temple Public Library, 100 W. Adams Ave., from June 14 to July 30.

Breakfast will be available for pickup on weekdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Lunches are available weekdays from Noon to 1 p.m. Weekend meals can be picked up during lunch time Fridays. A drive-thru line for meals to be picked up will be available on the North First Street side of the library.

Each breakfast will come complete with a drink and meal. Lunches will include a protein, fruit/vegetable, and a drink.

Children do not need to be present for parents/guardians to pick up meals; however, if the child is not present, parents/guardians will need to provide one of the following forms of identification:

  1. Official Letter/Email from the school listing the child(ren) as enrolled
  2. Individual student report cards
  3. Attendance record from parent portal of school website
  4. Birth certificate for child(ren)
  5. Student ID cards
