Hawn Arcadia Projects Break Ground November 17
Turner Behringer Development will launch its much-anticipated renovation of the historic Hawn Hotel, Arcadia Theater and Sears Building with a ceremonial groundbreaking on Wednesday, November 17 at 11 a.m.
Over the course of the next 18 months, TBD will create 85K-square of residential, commercial and entertainment space, while retaining the historic exterior of the sites.
Supporting this downtown revitalization, the City is constructing a 457 space parking structure adjacent to the Hotel, a second garage on First St., and a series of downtown landscaping and street improvements.
The first phase of the project includes the Hawn Hotel and Arcadia Theatre and will include approximately 40-50 for-lease residential units as well as retail and restaurant space. The Arcadia Theatre will be redeveloped into a multi-purpose events and performance hall. The second phase of the project includes the Sears Building and will include retail, office, and/or residential units.
Partial road closures on Fourth St. and Central Ave. are scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 29. The Fourth St. closure will extend from Adams Ave. through the Fourth St. and Central Ave. intersection. Central Ave. will be closed from Second St. to Sixth St. This 11-month closure is related to the 415-spot parking garage construction in downtown Temple.
Detours will be implemented in the area, and access will be maintained to businesses. Drivers should use caution and pay attention to all traffic control devices. This is phase one of road closures for the ongoing downtown revitalization projects. Second phase information will be provided in the upcoming months on letstalktemple.com.
