Mayor Davis sworn-in to second term

Temple Mayor Tim Davis was officially sworn in Tuesday after securing his second term in the May 1 election.

“I look forward to continuing to work with everyone,” Davis said shortly after being sworn in. “We have a good team that works well together, and we’ll keep marching forward for the next three years.”

Municipal Court Judge Kathleen Person administered the oath of office to Davis as friends and family looked on during a special called meeting of the Temple City Council.

The Council unanimously voted to canvass the results of the May 1 election, in which Davis secured 1,749 votes to challenger Richard Arwood’s 915 votes.

Davis’ term will run through May 2024.
