Temple splash pads open for summer season

Temple Parks & Recreation offers residents a chance to beat the heat all summer long with a plethora of pools, splash pads and aquatics programming.

“We’re excited to kick off the summer with our outstanding aquatics facilities and programs,” Recreation Division Director Richard Fibish said. “Whether you’re taking swim lessons, getting some laps in or just relaxing in the lazy river, we have something for everybody.”

The Parks and Recreation Department is still looking for lifeguards and aquatics staff to operate facilities this season.

“More than one hundred employees are needed to operate the City’s aquatic facilities at full strength each summer.” shared Assistant Director Mike Hemker, “We’re seeking lifeguards, swim lessons instructors, cashiers as well as food & beverage workers for all of our facilities.”

Those wanting to become lifeguards can register for lifeguard training classes, too.  Anyone seeking summer employment for the summer season should visit www.templetx.gov/jobs and apply today.
