Temple Landfill

Be sure to bring your identification to show where the waste was generated.

• If you are a Temple resident and have a pickup load or less of general household cleanup, you may bring your current water utility bill* showing your residential garbage rate for 1 free dump per month. This does not include mattresses or any type of remodeling, demolition, building, roofing materials, or anything over a pickup load.
• (*NOTE: You can now show your digital copy on your device at the landfill starting November 1st, 2023.)
• If you are not a Temple resident, the minimum charge to dispose of a load is $54.43 plus a $0.94 State Fee.
• All loads must be fully covered and tarped or an additional fee of $20 will be assessed.
• A safety vest MUST be worn while in the landfill. You may wear a safety vest, or one may be purchased at the Scalehouse for $10.83.
• Accepted methods of payment are:

  • Check
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover only)

The Temple Landfill is located at 706 Landfill Road which can be found at the end of East Avenue H on the east side of Loop 363. See the map for reference.

• City of Temple residents may take one pickup load of general household waste per month to the landfill for “free” to the resident (this does not include mattresses). 
• Resident must show his/her water utility bill showing garbage rate  You can now show your digital copy on your device at the landfill starting November 1st, 2023.
• Personal identification must match the water utility bill 
• Water utility bill must be dated within the past 60 days
• Load must be NO more than the capacity of a pickup load or less
• Must not include mattresses, remodeling, roofing, construction, building or demolition materials
• Individuals unloading materials must wear a reflective safety vest.
• All loads must be fully covered and tarped or an additional fee of $20 will be assessed.
