The City of Temple’s Storm Water Program hosts an annual Storm Drain Marking Event as part of our Public Education and Involvement program. This event consists of volunteers affixing steel buttons with a “Drains to Creek” message to the storm drain inlets and Storm Water Stenciling with the message "Don’t Dump Drains to Waterway". Anything that enters a storm drain inlet is discharged untreated into our waterways such as creeks, streams, rivers and lakes. Storm water affects both aquatic life and human life.
Participating in a Creek Cleanup Event ensures the cleanliness, safety and constant beauty of our waterways. Water on our streets collects litter as it flows down to storm drains and continues to our creeks. This Event raises public awareness about the need for healthy waterways and provides great opportunities for community engagement.
