Good Housekeeping practices have been established within the City of Temple to maintain compliance with our MS4 Stormwater Permit. These practices include:

Annual training for City employees

Education and certification of municipal employees to reduce water quality impacts from fertilizers and pesticides

Collecting and recycling used motor oil from the fleet maintenance activities

Street sweeping and street cleaning

Regular maintenance and cleaning of the stormwater inlets and drainage system helps to reduce the amount of debris, trash and other pollutants in the storm drain system

Dechlorination equipment is required to remove excess chlorine from wash water that is used to treat new water lines

Maps and inventory of all of all City-owned facilities and their storm water controls.
