Membership Requirements
Any Temple resident over the age of 18 with a valid Temple Public Library Card is welcome to use the Tool Library. Members are required to fill out a membership application, sign a liability waiver and present a government-issued ID.

Tool Library Policies

You may submit your application in several ways once you have downloaded the application:

  • Email to:
  • Mail: Temple Tool Library, 101 N. Main St, Temple, TX 76501
  • In person: Anytime during our regular business hours 8am - 5pm

*If submitting your application other than in person, please make sure you include a copy of your government-issued ID with your application.*

How to Borrow Tools
Please bring your Temple Public Library card and picture ID every time you borrow tools for verification purposes.

If you want to inquire on whether we have a specific tool, feel free to call our office at 254-298-5670.

To ensure a reservation of a tool(s) you must contact our office with an at least 24-hr lead time.  If you require assistance with loading/unloading the tools please let us know while making your reservation as those will need to be scheduled based on staff availability.  In general, tools requested before noon the day prior will be available for pick-up as early as the following morning at our office. *Please note items not picked up within a day of the requested date will be returned to the library and will require a subsequent request to be loaned out.*
Tools can be borrowed for up to 7 days. Fees will apply for not returning tools on due date or for damages. Please refer to our Tool Library Policies for complete details.
