Unlike most Martial Arts, training at the Temple Bujinkan Dojo is conducted is a friendly and non competitive atmosphere. Under the guidance of black belt instructors, students train together, assisting each other in learning the techniques. Because Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu relies on naturally efficient body movement, rather than strength or speed to overcome an attacker, the training is safe, stimulating, and accessible to any adult regardless of age, physical condition or previous martial art experience. The MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community”. This year, we will be cleaning up litter, raking leaves, and helping members of the community from James Wilson Park as well as the surrounding neighborhood so we can make our home even more beautiful. Taijutsu relies on naturally efficient body movement, rather than strength or speed. Students use these methods to learn to successfully handle various self defense situations. Learn the skills to move your body naturally and efficiently by leaping, tumbling, and climbing in a fun atmosphere. Previous martial arts experience is not required. Wonder what it feels like to pick up a guitar and actually make music? This class will teach you the basic beginner skills. Focus on how to play the guitar for fun without reading music, while learning the guitar components, correct finger positions, chord melody and strumming techniques.
