TPD Reminds Residents of Intersection Procedures

TEMPLE, TX (March 12, 2020) –The Temple Police Department is reminding residents to remain patient when navigating heavily-trafficked intersections.

TPD has been made aware of several intersections where drivers enter the intersection in an attempt to turn left. However, during high-traffic hours, the signal often changes before the driver has had an opportunity to turn. To refrain from creating additional traffic congestion, drivers should wait until they can safely turn before entering the intersection.

According to the Texas Transportation Code, a driver may not stop a vehicle in an intersection. Drivers who do so may be issued citations.

TPD reminds drivers to be patient and give themselves extra travel time to ensure they make it to their destination safely and on time.
