Shop Local in Downtown Temple for Small Business Saturday

With the Downtown Temple District going through a major redevelopment and reinvestment effort, it’s a great place for residents and visitors to shop locally this holiday season. New businesses and restaurants are continuously opening their doors and will be ready to host customers this upcoming weekend for Small Business Saturday on November 30th.

•    Pieces by Jo (13 S. 2nd Street): A combination clothing boutique and gift shop, owner Alma Jo Johnson previously operated her business as a sub-tenant in another Downtown store, The Hub. Due to the success of her business, she chose to expand her operation and strike out on her own as an independent shop in Downtown Temple.
•    Treno Pizzeria & Taproom (112 S. 1st Street): Owned by Jacob Bates, who brought Bird Creek Burger Company to Downtown Temple, this restaurant is another example of a successful business owner choosing to expand and start a new Downtown venture. While the new restaurant space is not yet officially open, Treno’s Mobile Pizzeria food truck is up and running and has already set up shop in various areas around Temple.
