Office of the Chief of Police
Chief of Police
The Chief of Police is appointed by, and responsible to, the City Manager. The Chief will direct and coordinate the work of all the divisions of the department; handle personnel issues, disciplinary actions, citizen complaints, manpower needs, division problems, requests for funding and policy development and review.

Administrative Assistant
The administrative assistant is a civilian position that performs the duties assigned by the Chief of Police and is directly responsible to him.

Administrative Executive Secretary
The administrative executive secretary is a civilian position that provides administrative and support services to the Chief of Police and others as needed. The Administrative Executive Secretary is a civilian position and is appointed by and responsible to the Chief of Police.

Administrative Services/Personnel Officer
This is a sworn position who: 
  • Plans, directs and administers the personnel activities of the department
  • Administers sworn applicant screening processes
  • Develops, implements and presents recruiting programs
  • Conducts internal affairs investigations that involve very responsible and confidential investigative work

The Administrative Services/Personnel Officer is appointed by and responsible to the Chief of Police.

Crime Analyst
The Crime Analyst accesses and utilizes a variety of data sources to identify trends and patterns in criminal activity. The crime analysis function is administratively assigned under the Office of the Chief and is a civilian position.

It is the overall purpose of crime analysis to reduce crime, solve community problems, reduce motor vehicle accidents, and increase the apprehension of criminals by utilization of available information. The crime analysis function also serves to provide investigative leads and assists administrative personnel in planning, budgeting and developing long-range strategies.

Public Information Officer
This is a sworn position who: 
  • Coordinates the release of daily activities of the Police Department to the media
  • Gathers information of major investigations or current major incidents and releases said information to the media and other public entities
  • Coordinates public relations activities of the department

The Public Information Officer is appointed by and is responsible to the Chief of Police.
