Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    May 13, 5:00 PM - May 15, 8:00 PM @ Classes will be held at the Temple High School Swim Center unless otherwise noted.

    Become a Lifeguard! Gain the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, respond to, and care for aquatic and land emergencies until EMS can take over. This is a blended learning course, so register early to complete the online coursework before classes begin. Expect the online course to take 8-10 hours. Cost includes a manual, pocket masks, and hands-on training/certification. You must register at Sammons Indoor Pool at least two weeks before class begins.

  2. Water Safety Instructor Course

    May 20, 5:00 PM - May 22, 6:00 PM @ Class time will be at the Blackmon Center, Water Skills will be at Clark Pool across the street.

    This course will certify you to teach Red Cross Swim Lessons. After this four day class you will know the proper form and technique of all the swim strokes. You will be able to teach adults and children the importance of water safety, how to prepare lesson plans, and how to execute each lesson. Instructor: Vincent Taylor.
